How many Christians tell their friends and families that “Believing in Jesus will get you to Heaven so that God won’t send you to hell?”

It seems that many people think that the goal of Theism (Belief in God) is to avoid hell. Honestly, that is a poor understanding and misrepresentation of Christianity. One does not believe in Christ to avoid hell. Belief in God is not”… Some sort of Fire Insurance… (Dr William Lane Craig). Yes, there is indeed a hell for the reprobate and the one who rejects the Love and sacrifice of Christ for Salvation but, again, avoiding hell is not why we follow Christ!

We believe in Christ because He is the supreme good in a desperately evil world. He is the sole object of our worship and adoration. God is the epitome of goodness and love that is to be desired by all Christians. He is the life giver to all creation and is the Sovereign head of all created human beings. He should be the desire of our hearts because we are created in His image in order that we may communicate with Him.

Our goal, as Christians, is to tell a dying world that there is hope in the midst of wickedness and turmoil. This is not our Home but Heaven is our home. Our message is to tell of God’s love that He so loved the world that He made a way to forgive us for our iniquities against Him and that is through Jesus Christ, the only way, truth, And Life.

The fulfilment of the human life is to know the creator of all human life – Jesus Christ!

Loving God by the Book

Psalm 119:105-112

“I just don’t have enough time.” That’s the primary reason people give me for not meditating upon Scripture. But in reality, we all make time for what’s important to us. A few years back, I photocopied the book of Philippians, cut it into sections, and taped it over my local newspaper. It only took up three columns of the front page. This proves that reading the book of Philippians takes about as long as reading our favorite parts of the newspaper or scanning articles on the internet.

In truth, we could probably all find space in our schedules for God’s Word. You could begin by opening to an epistle and asking the Lord to speak to you. As you read, pray over the words the Holy Spirit draws to your attention. As He lifts truths off the page and into your heart, ask Him for deeper understanding and…

What makes you a Christian?

I apologise for the audio noise at the beginning of this video because the audio jack was not plugged in correctly and there is a humming sound all the way through. We have fixed this now for future. Grace to all of you!.

What is the reason for your faith?

In other words, what is the reason that you call yourself a Christian or why do you believe that you are a Christian? Just because someone says “I believe in Jesus” certainly does not make them a Christian.Believing in Henry Ford does not make one a Ford Motor Car. Believing in Shakespeare does not make one Hamlet or Romeo or even Juliet.

Believing in Jesus is mutually exclusive to the belief that you are a Christian unless, of course, your belief in Christ is working through you in such a way that it qualifies you as a Christian; in a way that Jesus Christ spoke of in Matthew 16, thereby making it mutually inclusive the way Christ intended it to be, especially according to Matthew 28:19-21.

Therefore, What does it mean to be a genuine Christian? Believing in Jesus only brings about Salvation but, it should be the gift of Salvation that should lead believers to be Christians.
The word “Christian Means;

1) Followers of Christ, thereby implying that Christians should do as He does.

And 2) Those who are always talking about Christ – those who are giving a reasonable and intelligent defence of why they are Christians with reasonable evidence through their lifestyles.

Always Begin With God

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Matthew 6:33

There are many vocations focused on problem solving: consultants, psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors, practitioners, advisors, life-coaches, mentors, and more. Some may be biblically focused, but most use secular approaches to solving problems.

Because Christians live in the world, it is hard not to be influenced by how the world approaches life—which is generally, not from a biblical perspective. We have to constantly remember that no one knows as much about our life, our circumstances, and the solutions we need than God. While we may end up getting helpful advice from a “consultant” of some sort, our first counselor should be God: Lord, You know my situation and my need. I begin with You, asking for You to be involved in this with me. Give me Your wisdom; help me choose the right path; show me Your purposes; reveal to…

I Love God but do not need the Church?

I'm not going to Church in this weather

Colossians 1:17-18,

17And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18And he is the head of the body, the church…

I Love God but do not need the Church!

Those who say that they do not need the church because the church is filled with hypocrites; people such as these, who bring this type of indictment against the church, saying that the Church is a bunch of hypocrites are, in fact, themselves also hypocrites by their own admission. To say that “I believe in God but hate the Church” or “Believe in Christ but do not need to go to Church” is an oxymoron by definition according to Scripture! In other words, to say that one loves God but hates [scorns] his brother is a liar and the light and truth of God is not in Him(1 John 4:20).

  1. Salvation is individual!

Salvation is an individual thing because, after all, my salvation cannot cause my wife or even my children or anyone else to be saved unless Christ, Himself, shines His regenerating light into their lives and causes them to be saved. It is a falsity, a misnomer to think that your own salvation can cause anyone else, even your household to automatically be saved despite quoting Acts 16:31 (Out of Context).

  1. Salvation also concerns Christ’s Church – His Body!

However, Salvation is far greater than just an individual thing. You need to know that Salvation, even though it is individual, works itself out in many ways including a corporate way i.e. within the Church which is the Body of Christ. As we have just read, Colossians 1:18 says that “[Christ] is the head of the body, the church”.

Hebrews 3:1-2 goes to show the plurality of Christ’s Church; “Therefore, holy brothers [and sisters], you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession, 2who was faithful to him who appointed him, just as Moses also was faithful in all God’s house.

The church is not a place to go to just to feel good!

Now, despite popular belief that church is a place where you go to just to listen to a sermon in order that you can feel good about yourself is a perversion of

what Church is and should be. By the way, that is not just my sentiments but also according to Jesus and also according to the rest of Scripture.

What is Church?

Having said all of this, it brings me to a crucial question; “What is Church”? Throughout Scripture, there are many names given to describe what the Church is. It is known as a Family, a Kingdom, a Vineyard, a Flock, a Building, and even a Bride as I have mentioned before. However, the most profound name given to the church, one that has no Old Testament equivalent, is that of a Body.

Here in Colossians, and elsewhere in the New Testament, the church is called a Body. A body does not mean an assembly or a club-like get-together of a group of people or even something like a school governing body. Rather, in this sense, as we see in Colossians, it is referring to a living organism much the same as a human body which has hands, feet, eyes, ears, and also the head. In other words, what Paul is saying is that the Church is a living organism comprised of essential parts and members that a fully functional human body cannot do without. Let me illustrate this with another Scripture.

1 Corinthians 12:12-20, 27

12For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though [they are] many, are one body, so it is with Christ. 13For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. 14For the body does not consist of one member but of many. 15If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 16And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 17If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? 18But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. 19If all were a single member, where would the body be? 20As it is, there are many parts [or members], yet [are] one body.

27Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.

The True Church will Comfort one another despite trials!

However, the true Church will take God at His Word and be the Church; that true Church that Jesus spoke of and established by His own divine wisdom (Matthew 16:13-20). The true Church will not just come to church but, rather, the true Church will be the Church, that is; they will be the Church for one another as the true Body of Christ to the glory of Christ as their main objective.

They will not see the church as an extramural activity – something that they will do whehn they feel up to it – but , rather, they will see themselves as helpers for one another, ministering to one another, and comforting one another whether in good times or in times of disparate trials and tribulations (Ephesians 5:19, cf. 1 Thessalonians 4:18). Even in desperate trials, the words of Scripture will become a hiding place, a refuge, and a great encouragement for the Church in order that we may comfort those who are suffering because we ourselves have suffered and taken comfort in God’s word (1 Peter 4:12-17)

1 Thessalonians 5:11

“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up…”

There is nothing more meaningful than when you are able to speak to someone who is going through a terrible time and be able to comfort them with genuine compassion because you know what you are talking about because of having experienced first-hand the comfort of Christ. Speak to them with God’s experiential wisdom because you know His word to be true, you have experienced His peace, you know what you are talking about because you have experienced God’s peace in the midst of turmoil, even when God did not answer immediately or even in the way you expected Him to answer. Yet, He was by your side every step of the way. These are the type of Christians the Church needs; those who have trusted God and know what they are talking about and then can give genuine comfort to others because they feel genuine compassion.

Why do you go to church? Is it because of tradition? Is it because you need “An Adrenaline Shot” for the next 2 to 3 weeks until we see you again? Is it because you need some sort of guilt relief?
Or, is it because you see yourself as a true member of a living organism, a living body which has Christ as its Head and, therefore, you are controlled by that Head? If you answered “Yes” to the last question then, if you are controlled by the the Head – Christ – then the rest of the Body of Christ will be of utmost importance to you as well.
Again, let me put it this way; are you concerned only about your own problems whether they are at home, or at the workplace, or where ever they may be or are you concerned about Christ’s Body as well? That is the bigger question. If all that you are concerned about is your own welfare, your own spirituality, and your own “Jesus” or, as I like to put it, “J.A.M – Jesus and Me” then, unfortunately, you have missed the mark completely and, by the way, not just here but also in other Churches as well.

The Matches Are Lit, The World Is Burning

What is it that we westerners do not get about what the rest of the world is experiencing around us? Do we really think that our children will live in a world that is safer than the world we grew up in? If you would, please lend me your ear for a few moments. Hopefully, the things you read will help to broaden your understanding as to why I chose the title that I have for this conversation with you.

Do you remember the so-called “Arab Spring” of a few years ago? O what a beautiful thing this could have been for this region of the world plus the vibrations it could have caused around the world, this shaking off of dictators. But the people of the region have learned it seems that a military strongman is the only way to keep other religion-based dictators from taking their place. Back during the first Gulf War than American President George H.W. Bush knew the importance of keeping the dictator in Iraq in power. It seems that his son George W when he took the power of the Office had not learned at his dad’s feet, or, was it ego that made him make up a story so he could attack Iraq and remove Saddam? There are many American people who I have come across who believe that “we the people” are paying fat pensions to at least three international war criminals (President, V.P., Secretary of Defense). Criminal or not because of their actions the whole world is crawling with the Asps they helped unleash on all of humanity.

In this real world that hopefully, the politicians will soon join us in, it does not matter if you are a republican, democrat, independent (like me), or none of the above. Hopefully soon partisan party politics can be shelved and they and the national media outlets can become more concerned about current imminent physical threats to our people. This threat is to all of our non-strict Muslim cultures, to their property, their religions, and their very lives. There are tens of millions if not hundreds of millions of fellow brothers and sisters who because of being misguided who simply want you to get off of the face of the earth, “their earth”. A life where only loyal followers of Allah will be allowed to live a non-slave life if you are allowed to live at all, doesn’t that sound exciting? America our location on the globe no longer gives us an immunity from other continents griefs. When it comes to ideologies land or water give us very little protection any longer.

By man’s laws here in the States any person can choose to be of any faith they wish, or of no faith system at all. Mans laws write in a few laws governing people’s physical safety though that should be a no-brainer, besides what actual religion would condone attacking or killing other people? Then these laws of civil society for all must be enforced if a humane society itself is going to be able to exist, or it will be erased.

Within the religion of Islam are two main sects, the Sunni, and the Shiite. These two sects have existed on this planet for almost 1,400 years now, and it seems that they have hated each other right from their earliest roots 1,400 years ago. For the few years, a large Sunni militia called ISIS by western media has murdered and plundered their way into power covering hundreds of miles of land belonging to two adjoining Shiite nations, Syria and Iraq. ISIS is like several other high-profile Sunni groups like Boko Haram, and al-Qaeda in that they want to bring strict Islamic law to the middle-east, then the world. Their difference by what we hear in the West is that ISIS is the most violent and most strict toward adherence to Islamic fundamentalist theology, Sunni theology.

By what I have heard and read from the media throughout the years is that within Islam the Sunni are about 80% and the Shiite the other 20% of the Islamic faith. So when you take into account the hatred between these two groups is it any wonder why the Mullahs in Iran want the ability to nuke other nations? They can say it is a defensive weapon though knowing very well that it is a preemptive strike weapon also. Then it comes down to a trust factor, or a stupidity factor, how much you are willing to trust their “Supreme Ruler”  and others just like him with the lives of everyone on earth?

For those of you who don’t already know it the word Islam by definition means submission, as in absolute submission to the will of Allah. I have another question for everyone, what kind of religion is it that tells its followers to kill everyone who will not obey? Why would anyone ever listen to a “prophet” who orders either worldwide conversion or worldwide extermination? Here in the States we have as a nation been blessed, lucky, and just plain good at shutting down larger terror cells who wished to kill us and our families. But folks there are supposed to be at least 18 million Islamic believers inside our borders with us. If only 1% of this population is a true believer of Islamic teachings that equals 180,000 soldiers implanted waiting on their orders to kill as many infidels (non-believers) as they possibly can. America, when they strike, not if, what are you going to do? Are you going to fall apart and burn into ashes? Only time will tell, or, a person could simply read the playbook on-line if you are not allowed a paper copy, it’s called the Bible! For those who don’t understand it, the end times are spelt out very well in its last book, the book of Revelation. The human race has a simple choice of living and possibly dying for the winner or, living for a short time but in slavery to the biggest loser in the history of all eternity.

The matches are lit, for now, several large Islamic hate groups are fighting each other all over the Middle-East in an attempt to kill each other. If all of those efforts to kill each other were being directed at western targets as they soon will be, what then? If the two main Islamic factions were to quit fighting among themselves they would then join forces in their hatred for everything and everyone that is not Islamic. Every nation, every people on earth, you, your culture, your religion, your country, you are currently being measured for bagging. America (and every other nation on earth), folks, life is about to change more rapidly toward the negative than any sane person could ever want. The question is simple, are we going to fold as a culture, and as a Nation, when more horrible things start happening on our soil? By these horrible things, I do mean markets and grocery stores being blown up, bridges blowing up, churches being shot up and our school children being massacred live on CNN? This is the reality that the whole world is facing, we as a people must all decide how we are going to react to this reality when it comes busting into our own homes, because folks, it is coming, soon!
