Mother’s Day 2017

1 Samuel 1 and 2. (Selected Verses)

Mothers are the makers of men.  Paul wrote to Timothy and said, “Women will be saved through childbearing,” 1 Timothy 2:15.  What did Paul mean by that?  He meant that the saving role, the virtue, the task, and the goal of women is to raise godly children…” (John McArthur)

I would like to take you on a journey and give you a glimpse of a godly mother by the name of Hannah.

There is much to say about her but for the sake of brevity let me break it down into point form.

Point 1: The Husband and Wife’s godly relationship!

Point 2:  The Husband and Wife Worship together!

Point 2: Hannah – an example of godliness!

Point 3: Hannah’s adoration and Praise to God!

Point 4: A comparison between Hannah and Eli!

Point 5: Single Mothers and Mothers with unbelieving Husbands!

2 Timothy 1:2-7 (ESV)

To Timothy, my beloved child: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. I thank God whom I serve, as did my ancestors, with a clear conscience, as I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day. As I remember your tears, I long to see you, that I may be filled with joy. I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well. For this reason, I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
